Saint James

Saint James rum comes from Martinique and is enjoyed all around the world.

The art of rum since 1765

The craftsmanship (for more than 250 years) and expertise of the exceptional Saint James rums is regularly rewarded with medals at international competitions. The AOC label (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) for these agricultural rums emphasises the quality of the product. The basis of these rums is sugar cane that is pressed as soon as possible after harvesting. The sugar cane juice is then heated and distilled in copper alembic stills. This production method, typical of the Antilles, imparts aromatic notes and fruity flavours to the Saint James rum. The Saint James product range consists of rums that are ideal to serve as a basis for mixes and cocktails and aged rums that are best drunk neat.

Saint James 12 Years Old 43°

This rich and complex rum is aged for at least 12 years. The nose of this Saint James reveals full woody notes through the prolonged contact with selected oak barrels. We taste notes of brushwood and charring (roasted coffee), accompanied by pronounced spices such as nutmeg, which gradually give way to softer flavours of cinnamon and plum.

Exceptional ageing of at least 15 years makes this rum very sophisticated. On the nose, woody notes (mushrooms, dry wood) mix with toasty notes (charring, toasted wood), typical of the toasting of the barrels. On the palate, tannins and a woody taste predominate, with hints of dry, toasted wood taking over the whole palate. This rum has a remarkable aftertaste.
