Perhaps Sonnema is new to you, or maybe you already know the drink. It doesn’t matter, because in fact nothing has changed in the past century and a half. It started in Friesland with the quirky innkeeper Fedde Sonnema, who made Sonnema using his own recipe and thus attracted a lot more customers to his inn. Sonnema is now also very popular beyond the borders of the Frisian landscape. A lot has changed since 1860, but some things remain the same, such as the recipe!

Sonnema is a delicious Dutch drink that is perfect for mixing. Sonnema has a strong character, which makes it delicious when mixed with cola, orange juice, lemon drinks, iced-tea, Rivella or sparkling fruit water. Sonnema gives your drink that extra bite!
Gentian root, sandalwood, centaury, ash leaf, orange peel and other herbs are used in the unique recipe. That’s how it started over 150 years ago and that’s how we still do it today. Artisanal and honest. With care and according to an old (secret) family recipe.
After 150 years, Sonnema is still made in Friesland, but drunk all over the world, by everyone, all year round!
