    Located on the island of La R\u00e9union, in the middle of the Indian Ocean above Madagascar since 1886, the Rivi\u00e8re du M\u00e2t distillery takes its name from an old legend. According to tradition, a ship exploring the island was wrecked in a riverbed, with only the mast remaining visible for many years. In time, the stream came to be called Rivi\u00e8re du M\u00e2t: “the river of the mast”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


    A typical product of La R\u00e9union is \u2018Rhum Arrang\u00e9\u2019: a perfect mix of traditional rum, tropical fruits and spices. It is made by preparing a mix of fruits and spices for several months to years. Sugar is also added to bring out the flavours and obtain a soft aftertaste. Rivi\u00e8re du M\u00e2t honours the tradition of the island of La R\u00e9union with 5 different \u2018Rhum Arrang\u00e9\u2019 flavours: Caramelised Pineapple, Tropical Vanilla, Toasted Coconut and Banana & Vanilla & Ginger.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
